Chesterville Meals on Wheels gets a new Container Kitchen!
What an exciting day it was on 13 July for Chesterville Meals on Wheels as their long awaited fully fitted kitchen container was handed over. The ceremony was well attended with over 300 people sharing in the excitement. Chesterville Meals on Wheels has been operating in Chesterville since 1991 and has operated from the home of Themba and Zandile Zulu. From this home more than 30 000 meals are served to the surrounding communities on a monthly basis. Through the vision of the local municipal Councillor Sifiso Mgadi, a piece of land was earmarked by the Local Municipality to erect this container.
Pastor Lincoln De Waal, President of the KNFC Conference and Chairman of the MOWCS KNFSA, was on hand to cut the ribbon. This little centre not only has a Kitchen but also a Spaza Shop and a Bakery to help empower Chesterville Meals on Wheels.
A big THANK YOU” to all who attended especially the representatives from Vodacom, Container World Pty Ltd, FMGH Peugeot Pietermaritzburg and the many other companies who support the vision of Meals on Wheels of a Hunger Free South Africa. It is because of your kindness and generosity that the lives of so many can be touched. We applaud you.
